Dee & Cornelius
Playwright, Patricia Cornelius and director, Susie Dee, make work that offers formidable roles for female actors, and which calls for them to take the space and own it. The pair make work that is physical, sensual and heightened, using text which is as muscular and vigorous. It's not easy work and the worlds they create are tough, and at times brutal. The characters are hard to like and the language is rough and piercing and sometimes hilarious, held together by a grungy, poetic style. Patricia and Susie have worked together for over 30 years and made many award-winning, extraordinary and powerful works.
